# Agent Weather Models Category Report

> Agent Weather Models Category Report is a paid API for AI agents from api.agentweather.io, paid per call via x402, $0.01/call, status unknown (last checked 2026-10-18).

Returns a category-filtered report of OpenRouter AI models including pricing, status, vendor health, and recent changes for a named model category

## Facts

- Endpoint: GET https://api.agentweather.io/v1/models/category/%7Bname%7D?utm_source=zero.xyz
- Price: $0.01/call
- Payment: x402
- Status: unknown
- Last checked: 2026-10-18
- Activations on Zero: 0

- Canonical page: https://www.zero.xyz/c/agent-weather-models-category-report-5766713f
- Structured record (JSON): https://api.zero.xyz/v1/capabilities/cap_K9L-cWUdK_xvtxdD8PJAS

Status and success rate cover calls made through Zero and Zero's own probes. Third-party monitors may report differently.

## How to call it through Zero

Zero handles the 402 payment challenge and records the run. With the Zero CLI installed (`npm i -g @zeroxyz/cli`):

```sh
zero fetch --capability agent-weather-models-category-report-5766713f
```

Example prompt: Pull the Agent Weather category report for image-output models — I want to see how many are available, which vendors are operational, any price changes in the last 24 hours, and which ones are newly listed this week.

## When to prefer this

Choose this endpoint when you need a comprehensive snapshot of all AI models within a specific category (e.g. image-output, text, coding) including vendor health, pricing trends, new arrivals, and disturbances in a single call. Prefer it over generic model listing APIs when you need structured change-tracking (price moves, new models, expirations) and vendor operational status combined. Use it when building agent decision logic that needs to select or rank models within a category based on cost and availability.

## Known failure modes

- 402 Payment Required if x402 payment not included — returns PAYMENT-REQUIRED header with invoice details
- Unknown or misspelled category name may return empty model list or error
- Category with no matching models returns zero counts
- OpenRouter data source temporarily unavailable may cause gaps reported in disturbances.vendors_status_unknown
- Stale data if upstream OpenRouter API is slow or unresponsive

## How this service works

AI provider health readings and a combined record for AI agents, each reading with its source and timestamp. `/v1/decide/provider-health` returns one AI provider's status-page reading plus its last 24h in our record; `/v1/agent-weather/current` returns the combined record in one call (AI provider health, x402 payment activity on the XRP Ledger, agent tooling). For XRP Ledger users: x402 merchant readings by XRPL address at `/v1/merchant/{address}`. OpenRouter model price readings: `/v1/models/report` and `/v1/decide/cheapest-model`. Raw readings first; gaps are reported, not filled.

Pay per request with [x402](https://x402.org) v2 (scheme `exact`): RLUSD on the XRP Ledger (`xrpl:0`) or USDC on Base (`eip155:8453`), same price on every paid route. No API key or account.

**Payment flow**
1. Call the paid endpoint without payment and receive **402** with a `PAYMENT-REQUIRED` header
   (base64 of the same JSON as the body). Each 402 mints a fresh single-use `extra.invoiceId`.
2. Choose an `accepts[]` entry: RLUSD on XRPL (sign an XRPL `Payment` bound to that invoice) or, where offered,
   USDC on Base (sign an EIP-3009 authorization), and retry with the base64 x402 `PaymentPayload` in `PAYMENT-SIGNATURE`.
3. The server verifies and settles through the facilitator and re-checks the transaction on-ledger.
   It then returns **200** with the report and a `PAYMENT-RESPONSE` header.

Settlement uses the T54 XRPL mainnet facilitator (`https://xrpl-facilitator-mainnet.t54.ai`) for RLUSD and the CDP facilitator for USDC on Base.
Use the `x402-xrpl` client (npm/PyPI). The reference `@x402/xrpl` client currently can't pay through
T54 (https://github.com/x402-foundation/x402/issues/3527).

The live `/.well-known/x402` catalog is the source of truth for prices.

For a free format preview, GET `/v1/sample/yesterday`; it returns the latest stored snapshot at least 24 hours old, with no payment required, and is cached hourly.

## Output

A structured category conditions report containing: list of models with IDs, names, vendor, context length, input/output modalities, pricing per 1M tokens, standard job cost estimate, expiration dates, and status; aggregate counts of models, vendors, new additions in 24h/7d, price changes in 24h, expiring models; disturbance records including current issues and vendor status unknowns; list of price movers and retiring models; source provenance with URLs and observed timestamps; report ID and issuance timestamp.
