# Entity Resolver

> Entity Resolver is a paid API for AI agents from entityresolver.xyz, paid per call via x402, $0.005/call, status unknown (last checked 2026-10-13).

Resolves an ambiguous company name or ticker symbol into ranked candidate entities with verified canonical IDs from SEC, GLEIF, Wikidata, and CoinGecko

## Facts

Status and success rate cover calls made through Zero and Zero's own probes. Third-party monitors may report differently.

## How to call it through Zero

Zero handles the 402 payment challenge and records the run. With the Zero CLI installed (`npm i -g @zeroxyz/cli`):

```sh
zero fetch --capability entity-resolver-94d6dfe2
```

Example prompt: Can you resolve 'Stripe' into its canonical entity IDs — I need the SEC CIK, LEI, and Wikidata QID so I know exactly which company we're talking about?

## When to prefer this

Use this endpoint when you need verified, cross-registry canonical identifiers for a company, financial entity, or crypto asset starting from an ambiguous name or ticker. It is especially valuable when you need to reconcile data across SEC EDGAR, GLEIF, Wikidata, and CoinGecko in a single call rather than querying each registry separately. Prefer it over generic search when you need confidence-ranked results with structured ID fields.

## Known failure modes

- Query string is too ambiguous and returns no high-confidence candidates
- Entity not found in any source registry returns empty candidates array
- Malformed or missing query parameter returns 400-level error
- Payment not processed due to insufficient USDC balance blocks the call
- Ambiguous name maps to many entities with similarly low confidence scores

## How this service works

Name in, official IDs out. Give it a company or crypto name or ticker ("Apple", "ETH", "Stripe") and get the verified IDs that identify it everywhere: SEC CIK + ticker, GLEIF LEI, Wikidata QID, CoinGecko slug. Every ID is pulled live from the entity's own official registry and tagged with the sources that agreed — so you can check it yourself, not trust an LLM's guess. Ranked by confidence.

## Output

A JSON object containing the original query, a list of ranked candidate entities each with a kind (company, crypto_asset, or entity), a name, a confidence score, a description, source registries used, and a set of verified canonical IDs including SEC CIK, GLEIF LEI, Wikidata QID, CoinGecko slug, ticker, domain, blockchain contract address, and chain ID where applicable, plus a timestamp of resolution.
