## How to call it through Zero

Zero handles the 402 payment challenge and records the run. With the Zero CLI installed (`npm i -g @zeroxyz/cli`):

```sh
zero fetch --capability serper-google-maps-search-via-serper-5764c03f -d '<json body>'
```

Example prompt: Search Google Maps for Italian restaurants in Brooklyn, NY and give me the top results with their addresses, coordinates, and ratings.

## When to prefer this

Use this endpoint when you need Google Maps-specific results with geospatial data (lat/lng), ratings, and addresses for local businesses or places — especially when coordinates are required for downstream mapping or routing. Prefer over Places endpoint when you specifically want map-style search results rather than structured place detail lookups.

## Known failure modes

- Empty results if query matches no map listings
- Rate limiting or quota exceeded if API limits are hit
- Invalid query format returns error response
- Location not recognized returns no results
- Network timeout for slow Google Maps backend responses

## How this service works

Google Maps search - returns map listings with titles, addresses, latitude/longitude coordinates, ratings, review counts, phone numbers, websites, and categories. More detailed than Places for location-based queries. Use ll parameter for precise geographic targeting. Pagination billing: call the first page normally and save billing.requestId from the Orthogonal /v1/run response. For later page, offset, or cursor calls on the same logical search, pass parentRequestId with unchanged non-pagination parameters. Valid continuation calls still get their own request IDs and quoted price, but are charged 0. Changing filters starts a new billable request.

## Output

A list of Google Maps place listings, each containing the business name, full address, latitude and longitude coordinates, star rating, and review count.
