Use this endpoint when you need to verify a supplier's IBAN before payment and want both format validation and official bank registry confirmation in one call. Prefer this over generic IBAN validators when you need authoritative bank identity (BIC, LEI, SIREN) from official European sources for FR, BE, AT, NL, or DE. Not suitable if you need to verify that the account holder name matches — this endpoint explicitly does not check the beneficiary name.

## Known failure modes

LEI and SIREN; BE NBB; AT OeNB incl. LEI; NL BIC list; DE Bundesbank file). French BICs via GLEIF/SWIFT BIC-to-LEI. NOT a payee verification for instant payments: neither the holder name nor the account's existence is checked (verification_titulaire: non_disponible).

Returns IBAN validity (structure and mod-97 checksum), resolved bank information including BIC, bank name, LEI (where available), and SIREN (for French banks), sourced from the official national registry for the IBAN's country (FR/BE/AT/NL/DE). Explicitly does NOT return account holder name — verification_titulaire is always non_disponible.
