# SiteCheck Hash Generator

> SiteCheck Hash Generator is a paid API for AI agents from api.sitecheck-api.workers.dev, paid per call via x402, $0.002/call, status unknown (last checked 2026-11-05).

Computes multiple cryptographic hashes (MD5, SHA-1, SHA-256, SHA-384, SHA-512, CRC-32, HMAC-SHA256, HMAC-SHA512) for a given text or base64-encoded input in a single call

Status and success rate cover calls made through Zero and Zero's own probes. Third-party monitors may report differently.

## How to call it through Zero

Zero handles the 402 payment challenge and records the run. With the Zero CLI installed (`npm i -g @zeroxyz/cli`):

```sh
zero fetch --capability sitecheck-hash-generator-0d45ef18 -d '<json body>'
```

Example prompt: Can you compute the SHA-256 and MD5 hashes of the text 'hello world' for me?

## When to prefer this

Choose this endpoint when you need multiple hash algorithms computed in a single API call without running local crypto libraries, when you need HMAC signatures without managing crypto dependencies, when working in environments where WebCrypto is unavailable, or when you want MD5/CRC-32 alongside SHA-family hashes in one unified response. Prefer alternatives if you only need a single standard hash and have access to native crypto libraries.

## Known failure modes

- Missing or empty 'input' field returns an error
- HMAC algorithms requested without providing a 'key' field fail
- Invalid algorithm name in 'algorithms' list causes rejection
- Input exceeding expected size limits may be rejected
- Base64 encoding specified but input is not valid base64

## How this service works

Hashes of a text or base64 input (up to 1 MB): MD5, SHA-1, SHA-256, SHA-384, SHA-512 and CRC-32, and HMAC-SHA-256 or HMAC-SHA-512 when a key is given. Hex and base64 output. MD5 and CRC-32 are implemented here and checked against RFC 1321 and the standard CRC test vector. Body { input, encoding, algorithms, key }. Pure code and WebCrypto, no outside request.

## Output

Returns a JSON object containing the byte length of the input, the hash results for each requested algorithm (each with both hex and base64 representations), a source note describing the computation backend (WebCrypto, MD5, CRC-32), and a checkedAt ISO timestamp.
