Record types A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, NS, TXT, CAA. Use to see where an old value is still cached after changing a record, moving hosting or setting up email; for one lookup use dns_lookup.
Output
Returns the queried domain name and record type, a majority answer array showing the most common response across resolvers, a boolean 'propagated' flag indicating whether all five resolvers agree, and a 'resolvers' array with one entry per resolver containing its name, status, answer values, TTL, and any error.

It is the right choice after updating any DNS record (A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, NS, TXT, CAA) and needing to know whether old cached values persist anywhere. Prefer it over a single-resolver DNS lookup when debugging propagation delays, validating email setup, or confirming a hosting migration is fully live. Use the simpler dns_lookup endpoint instead if you only need a single authoritative answer and don't care about cross-resolver consistency.
Side effects
- Invalid or non-existent domain name returns resolver errors or empty answers
- Unsupported record type returns a validation error
- Network timeout to one or more resolvers returns an error field for that resolver entry
- Domain with no records of the requested type returns empty answers per resolver
- URL input with malformed host portion may fail to parse correctly
