Choose this endpoint when you need a fast, cheap, deterministic preflight check on untrusted text before passing it to an LLM or tool pipeline. It is not a probabilistic ML model, so it is highly predictable and auditable. Prefer it over heavier ML-based classifiers when latency and cost matter and you want rule-based, explainable findings rather than black-box confidence scores.
Side effects
- Text too short (below minLength of 1) returns a validation error
- Text exceeding 100,000 characters is rejected
- False negatives are possible — deterministic heuristics cannot catch novel or obfuscated injections
- Service returns non-200 on upstream worker failures
- No guarantee of safety is provided; heuristics may miss zero-day patterns
