POSThttps://mpp.orthogonal.com/agentphone/v1/numbers?utm_source=zero.xyzWhen to prefer
Use this endpoint when an AI agent needs to acquire a dedicated real phone number (US or Canada) to make voice calls or send/receive SMS — specifically within the AgentPhone ecosystem where the number will be tied to an agent, voice profile, and system prompt.
Side effects
- No available numbers in requested area — returns 404 or similar unavailability error
- Payment failure — insufficient USDC balance returns payment error
- Invalid country specified — only US and CA supported
- Rate limiting or account restrictions prevent provisioning
- Duplicate provisioning attempt for already-owned number
