Use this endpoint specifically when your own HTTP fetch has already failed with a 403, 429, empty body, or JavaScript shell response and you need a fallback reader that can attempt to retrieve the page content anyway. It is purpose-built for agent error-recovery workflows, not as a primary scraper.
Side effects
- URL is genuinely inaccessible even via proxy (returns verdict instead of content)
- Login-gated or authenticated pages cannot be read (verdict returned)
- Non-textual or binary content pages may return empty or verdict
- Malformed or unreachable URLs return an error verdict
- Rate limits on agentread itself could apply under heavy usage
