Use this endpoint when you need to stop an in-progress email validation job early — for example, if the wrong list was submitted, sufficient results have already been collected, or you need to cut costs by not testing remaining queued addresses. Already-completed address verdicts are preserved and still retrievable.
Side effects
- Job ID not found — returns 404 if the job_id does not exist
- Job already completed — cancelling a finished job may return an error or no-op
- Job already cancelled — idempotency issues if called twice
- Invalid job_id type — returns 400 if job_id is not an integer
- Authentication failure — returns 401 if credentials are missing or invalid
