Use this endpoint when you need point-in-time historical data with cryptographic provenance — specifically when you need to verify that a captured payload is authentic and contemporaneous via its content hash. Prefer this over live endpoints when working with past dates, auditing historical states, or building time-series analyses that require immutable records. Use the archive time-series endpoint instead if you need multiple days at once.
Side effects
- Feed name not found in archive catalog — returns error if feed slug is unrecognized
- Date out of range — no snapshot available for dates before the feed started archiving
- Invalid date format — must be YYYY-MM-DD
- Entity not found on multi-entity feed — if ?entity= value doesn't match any archived entity
- Payment failure — x402 USDC payment not authorized or insufficient balance
- No snapshot available for requested date — feed may have gaps in coverage
