Prefer this over generic market data APIs when you specifically need funding rate and predicted rate together with the next settlement time. The Bybit-primary / Binance-fallback design gives higher uptime than single-source alternatives.
Side effects
- Invalid or unsupported symbol returns null funding_rate fields with a notice
- Bybit API unavailable triggers Binance fallback; if both fail, data fields may be null
- Malformed symbol input (e.g. wrong format) may return empty or error response
- Rate limit or payment failure returns HTTP 402 or 429
- Symbol not listed on either exchange results in null data with an explanatory notice
