Use this endpoint when you need to resolve a city name or partial name to a structured city record (with IATA city codes) for use in downstream travel lookups like hotel search or flight search. Prefer this over airport search when the user references a city rather than a specific airport, or when you need to discover what airports serve a given city.
Side effects
- Missing required 'keyword' parameter returns validation error
- Invalid countryCode format returns error or empty results
- No cities found for keyword returns empty data array
- Network or upstream Amadeus API timeout
- Invalid 'include' enum value returns error
