Use this endpoint when you need a network-wide overview of all indexed Bittensor subnets in a single call — particularly for comparing incentive concentration (Gini, top-5 share), validator counts, stake distribution, and alpha token pricing across subnets. Prefer this over per-subnet metagraph endpoints when you need a broad scan rather than deep per-neuron detail for a specific subnet.
Side effects
- Subnet not indexed — only tracked subnets are returned; newly registered or unmonitored subnets will be absent
- Stale snapshot — if the Subtensor lite node falls behind, timestamps may lag real chain time
- Empty response — if no subnets are currently indexed or the indexer is rebuilding
- HTTP 402 — missing or insufficient x402 payment header for $0.02 USDC per call
- HTTP 500 — upstream node connectivity issue with the Subtensor lite node
