API Direct – Threads User Lookup by Username

Choose this endpoint when you need structured profile data for a single, known Threads username. It is purpose-built for direct handle-to-profile resolution and is more efficient than a keyword search when the exact username is already known. Prefer this over search endpoints when you want authoritative account metadata (follower count, bio, ID) rather than discovery of new accounts.

• Username not found – returns 404 or empty result if the handle does not exist on Threads
• Private or suspended account – profile data may be unavailable or partial
• Rate limiting – too many requests in a short window may return 429
• Invalid username format – usernames exceeding 100 characters or containing invalid characters may be rejected
• Network timeout – upstream Threads API may be slow or unavailable
