Side effects
- Payment not found within the scanned block range — may need to increase lookback_blocks or wait for more blocks
- Invalid Ethereum address format for payer or payee returns a validation error
- Invoice ID exceeds 64 characters or contains disallowed characters
- Network mismatch if payment was made on mainnet but base-sepolia was specified
- Lookback block limit exceeded (max 5000 on mainnet) returns an error
