NIH new awards feed — projects added to RePORTER in the last N days, newest first, filterable by institute, activity code and SBIR/STTR mechanism, with award amount, organisation and investigators. Use to monitor what NCI, NIAID or any institute just funded, or to catch new small-business awards in a field.
Output
A paginated JSON object containing: retrieval timestamp (as_of), window start date (since), total matching records, page info, and an awards array where each entry includes application ID, project number, title, fiscal year, agency details, activity code, award type, award amount, organization, and investigators. An empty window returns a note field instead of awards.

Prefer it over the sibling search endpoint when you want a time-bounded 'what just got funded' view rather than a keyword search across historical grants. Ideal for alerting, competitive intelligence, and portfolio monitoring workflows.
Side effects
- Missing required 'agency' parameter returns an error or example-mode response
- Invalid institute abbreviation returns empty results or an error
- Days value outside 1–90 range is rejected by schema validation
- Activity code not recognized by NIH RePORTER returns empty awards array
- Page number exceeding available results returns empty page
- Rate limiting or payment failure returns 402 or 429 status
