Use this endpoint when you need to identify the largest holders (whales) of a specific on-chain token by contract address and chain, particularly for EVM-compatible chains. Prefer this over general blockchain explorers when you need structured, ranked holder data via API.
Side effects
- Invalid or unsupported chain identifier returns an error
- Invalid or non-existent token contract address returns empty or error response
- Token with no holders or very new token may return empty results
- Rate limiting or payment failure returns 402 or 429 status
