Token price lookup. Pass coin identifiers as `/v1/defillama/prices/{coins}` (e.g. `coingecko:bitcoin`, `ethereum:0xC02aaA39b223FE8D0A0e5C4F27eAD9083C756Cc2`). Supports comma-separated lists.
Output
Returns a price object keyed by coin identifier, containing the current USD price (and possibly timestamp or confidence) for each requested token. Supports batch responses for comma-separated coin lists.

Prefer this over general web search when you need structured, machine-readable price data ready for computation. Especially useful for DeFi portfolio valuation, stablecoin peg checks, or any workflow requiring programmatic token price ingestion.
Side effects
- Invalid or unrecognized coin identifier returns an empty or error result for that coin
- Malformed coingecko slug causes lookup failure
- Network or upstream DefiLlama unavailability results in a 5xx error
- Requesting too many coins in one call may hit URL length or rate limits
- Payment failure (x402) blocks the call before it reaches the pricing service
