How this service works
Token price lookup. Pass coin identifiers as `/v1/defillama/prices/{coins}` (e.g. `coingecko:bitcoin`, `ethereum:0xC02aaA39b223FE8D0A0e5C4F27eAD9083C756Cc2`). Supports comma-separated lists.
Output

Use this endpoint when you need current token prices for one or more crypto assets and want to query by CoinGecko slug or EVM contract address. Prefer this over on-chain oracles when you need broad multi-chain token coverage and a simple REST interface. Ideal for DeFi analytics, portfolio valuation, and price enrichment workflows where pay-per-call pricing ($0.001 USDC) is acceptable.
Side effects
- Invalid or unrecognized coin identifier returns empty or error response
- Unsupported token format (not coingecko: or chain:address prefix) may fail silently
- Payment of 0.001 USDC not provided or x402 handshake fails, returns 402 Payment Required
- Rate limiting if too many identifiers are passed in a single call
- Token delisted from DeFiLlama or CoinGecko returns null price
