Ideal for multi-token price checks using coingecko slugs or ERC-20 contract addresses, especially in agentic workflows on Base where USDC micropayments are available. Prefer over direct DefiLlama API when operating in an x402-enabled environment.
Side effects
- Invalid coin identifier format returns an error or empty result
- Unknown coingecko slug or contract address returns no price data
- Payment of 0.001 USDC required per call — missing or failed x402 payment returns 402 Payment Required
- Network latency or DefiLlama upstream outage may cause timeouts
- Comma-separated list with one invalid identifier may cause partial or full failure
