Use this endpoint when an autonomous agent needs to cryptographically confirm that a USDC payment on the Base network was actually received before proceeding with a paid action, especially in x402-gated commerce flows. Prefer it over generic blockchain explorers when you need policy-enforced validation (minimum amount, max age, confirmation count) in a single API call rather than manual on-chain lookups.
Side effects
- Receipt tx_hash not found on Base — transaction may not be mined yet or hash is incorrect
- Payment amount below min_amount_usdc threshold — returns ok: false
- Transaction too old — exceeds max_age_hours policy
- Insufficient confirmations — block confirmation count below min_confirmations
- expected_pay_to address mismatch — funds sent to wrong wallet
- Network mismatch — only eip155:8453 (Base) is accepted
- Too many receipts — maxItems is 8 per call
- Service unavailable on Render cold start — timeout or 502 error
