ENS (Ethereum) and Basename (*.base.eth on Base) resolution: name to address with avatar, url, twitter, github, description records, or address to forward-verified primary names.
Output
A JSON object containing the resolved address (for forward lookup) or name (for reverse lookup), the ENS/Basename type, resolver contract address, chain, block timestamp, avatar URL, profile URL, social text records, and the query that was used. Big numbers are returned as strings.

Prefer it over raw RPC calls because it abstracts away Universal Resolver complexity, handles fallback RPCs automatically, and normalizes both ENS and Base naming systems into one unified response. It is read-only and requires no wallet or signing keys.
Side effects
- Name not registered or expired — returns null address or empty result
- Address has no reverse record set — reverse lookup returns no name
- Invalid ENS name format — HTTP 422 with error description
- RPC node temporarily unavailable — service retries with fallback RPC but may timeout
- Name exists but has no text records — records fields are empty or omitted
