A record is written only by the token's provable controller — on Solana, the pump.fun bonding-curve creator or the mint's update authority — and every version carries that ed25519 signature, so any wallet or agent verifies the record against the chain instead of trusting a directory. Each write is one $0.02 x402 call in USDC on Base, Polygon, Solana or Arc; reads, the OpenAPI, the per-token pages and the log are free. No votes, no promotion, no review queue.

Choose this endpoint when you need to write a cryptographically verifiable, controller-signed token record that wallets and agents can independently verify against Solana chain state — without relying on a centralized review queue, votes, or promotion. It is especially suited for pump.fun token creators and mint update authorities who want an authoritative, tamper-evident registry entry. Prefer it over general token metadata APIs when provable controller attestation and a permanent build log are required. Not appropriate for reading token records (use GET), for non-Solana tokens, or for tokens where you cannot produce a valid ed25519 signature as the current controller.
