Use this endpoint when you have partial information about a company or person and need to resolve and enrich it with a full structured profile from Diffbot's Knowledge Graph. Prefer this over the Search endpoint when you already have some identifying attributes (name, URL, email) and want a single best-match enrichment rather than a broad search across multiple results.
Side effects
- No match found for the provided identifiers — returns empty results or low-confidence match
- Ambiguous entity name with no disambiguating fields (URL, email, location) leads to incorrect match
- refresh=true increases cost to 100 credits instead of 25 and may time out for complex entities
- Missing required 'type' field (Person or Organization) causes a validation error
- Confidence threshold too high results in no matches returned even when candidates exist
- Person-only fields (email, title, employer) sent for Organization type may be ignored or cause errors
