It is more efficient than calling the single /dns/all endpoint repeatedly and returns results in input order with graceful per-item error handling. Prefer this over individual lookups whenever batch throughput matters, such as during domain audits, infrastructure migrations, or security investigations across a portfolio of domains.
Side effects
- Invalid or malformed domain name in list triggers per-item error without failing the whole batch
- More than 20 domains submitted may result in rejection or truncation
- Non-existent domains return a per-item error with NXDOMAIN or equivalent
- DNS timeout for a specific domain populates that item's error field
- Payment failure (x402) prevents the call from executing
- Empty domain list returns a validation error
