It is cheaper than signal_latest ($0.03) but still requires payment, so it is best suited as a pre-flight validation step rather than a repeated polling operation.
Side effects
- HTTP 402 if payment is not attached or insufficient USDC balance on Base
- Empty or unrecognized body fields may return ok: false without an error
- Service may be unavailable if Render instance is cold-starting (latency spike)
