CT hyperdense artery or early infarct 0/1/2, prestroke mRS >1 (1), age <65/65-79/>=80 (0/1/2), glucose >8 mmol/L (mg/dL /18) (1), onset-to-treatment >90 min (1), NIHSS 0-4/5-9/10-15/>15 (0/1/2/3); max 10. Tabulated mRS 0-2 and mRS 5-6 percents for scores 0-1, 2, 3, 8, and 9-10 only. Not a tPA decision. Not studied in basilar occlusion. magent does not read CT or assign NIHSS.
Output
Returns the total DRAGON score (integer 0-10) and tabulated probability percentages for mRS 0-2 (good functional outcome) and mRS 5-6 (death or severe disability) at 3 months, drawn from the Strbian 2012 lookup table for the computed score band. Scores outside tabulated bands (e.g. 4-7) may return interpolated or nearest-band values per the API's implementation.

Use this endpoint when you need a validated, automatable DRAGON score computation for acute ischemic stroke patients who have received or are about to receive IV thrombolysis, and you already have caller-assigned NIHSS, CT findings, and clinical parameters available. Prefer this over manual calculation when building stroke registries, clinical dashboards, or agent-assisted ED workflows. Do not use for basilar artery occlusion, as it was not studied in that population, and do not use as a tPA go/no-go decision tool.
Side effects
- Missing required parameters (age, nihss, onset_to_treatment_min, hyperdense_artery, early_infarct_signs, prestroke_mrs_gt_1) returns 400 error
- Providing both glucose_mg_dl and glucose_mmol_l simultaneously returns an error
- Age or NIHSS outside valid range returns validation error
- Score falls outside the tabulated bands (0-1, 2, 3, 8, 9-10) — intermediate scores may lack exact mRS percentage lookup
- Payment not provided or insufficient results in 402 response
