It is especially useful for diagnosing split-brain DNS issues or confirming post-migration record consistency. For full DNS record lookup across all record types via a single resolver, prefer the sibling DNS lookup endpoint instead.
Side effects
- Invalid input format — must include domain and optionally record type (e.g. 'example.com A')
- Domain does not exist — both resolvers may return NXDOMAIN or empty results
- Record type not found — resolvers return empty arrays for that record type
- Resolver unreachable — upstream DNS query failure
- Malformed domain — DNS query rejected
