Returns a JSON object containing: observed MX DNS records (name, type, RCODE, DNSSEC status, source URL, record status, raw records, observation timestamp, and attribution to Cloudflare 1.1.1.1), the normalized domain, a syntax validity status for the input email, a mail domain verdict (e.g. UNKNOWN, VALID, INVALID), a mailbox existence indicator, observation timestamp, and any limitations notes.

Prefer it over generic email validators when you need structured JSON evidence with source provenance and DNSSEC status, and when you need an auditable record of what the DNS showed at a specific point in time.
Side effects
- Invalid or malformed email address returns syntax error or INVALID_SYNTAX status
- Domain with no MX records returns NO_DATA status with empty records array
- DNSSEC status may be UNKNOWN if not resolvable
- Mailbox existence is always UNKNOWN — no mailbox-level verification is performed
- DNS lookup may time out for slow or unreachable authoritative nameservers
- Payment failure (HTTP 402) if USDC balance insufficient
