Choose this endpoint when you need structured, machine-readable fact-checking with explicit confidence scores and verdicts rather than a free-form AI answer. It is especially useful when building pipelines that need to programmatically branch on whether a claim is true, false, or uncertain, and when you need an explanation alongside the verdict.

• Missing required 'claim' field returns a validation error
