Auto-detect the mobile carrier for a phone number and return its live top-up amount range/denominations and current discount, before quoting or sending airtime. Wraps Reloadly's operator auto-detect. Run this (or POST /api/topup/quote directly, which auto-detects internally) before POST /api/topup.

Returns the detected mobile carrier name, operator ID, available top-up denominations or amount range (min/max), and any current promotional discount percentage applicable to the detected operator, sourced live from Reloadly.

Use this endpoint when you need to identify a phone number's carrier and retrieve live top-up denomination options and discounts before quoting or executing an airtime transfer. Prefer this over POST /api/topup/quote when you want explicit carrier validation and denomination data as a separate step, or when building a UI that shows users their options before committing. If you only need a quote and are comfortable with auto-detection happening internally, POST /api/topup/quote can skip this step.
Side effects
- Phone number not recognized or invalid format — returns error indicating undetectable carrier
- Phone number belongs to unsupported country or carrier not in Reloadly's network — returns no operator found
- Reloadly upstream service unavailable — returns 502 or timeout
- Missing required phone number parameter — returns 400 bad request
