A structured index of the document containing every detected section and block, each annotated with an exact [start, end) UTF-16 character span, a hierarchical section path, a SHA-256 fingerprint, and an overall coverage check confirming all characters are accounted for. Input can be raw text (50–1,000,000 chars) or a public URL pointing to HTML, plain text, or a PDF (up to 50 pages).

Side effects
- Text shorter than 50 characters or longer than 1,000,000 characters returns a validation error
- Both 'text' and 'url' supplied simultaneously triggers a 400 bad request

- PDFs exceeding 50 pages are truncated to the first 50 pages without error
- Malformed or non-UTF-8 encoded documents may produce incorrect span calculations
