How this service works
Google News search - returns news articles with titles, links, sources, dates, and snippets. Use for current events, press coverage, competitor monitoring, or media research. Pagination billing: call the first page normally and save billing.requestId from the Orthogonal /v1/run response. For later page, offset, or cursor calls on the same logical search, pass parentRequestId with unchanged non-pagination parameters. Valid continuation calls still get their own request IDs and quoted price, but are charged 0. Changing filters starts a new billable request.
Output
Returns a list of news articles, each containing a title, URL link, source name, publication date, and a short snippet summarizing the article content. Results respect the requested language, country, time range, and pagination settings.

Choose this endpoint when you need real-time or recent news articles from Google News with rich metadata (title, source, date, snippet, link), especially when you need country/language filtering, time-range filtering, or cost-efficient multi-page searches via parentRequestId pagination billing. Prefer this over general web search endpoints when the goal is specifically news articles rather than general web pages.
Side effects
- Empty results if query is too niche or no recent coverage exists
- Country or language codes provided in wrong format return no localized results
- Exceeding max num of 100 results per page returns an error
- Invalid tbs time filter string may return unfiltered or empty results
- Changing non-pagination parameters while passing parentRequestId starts a new billable request unexpectedly
