How this service works
Subtracts exported energy from supplied site energy, divides by conditioned floor area and selects the first caller-supplied ascending maximum-intensity band. It does not normalize climate or occupancy, convert primary energy, audit meters or issue a legally recognized energy certificate.
Output
Returns the computed net site energy use intensity in kWh/m²/year (imported minus exported, divided by conditioned floor area) and the label of the first supplied band whose maximum threshold the value does not exceed, along with that band's threshold value.

Ideal for internal benchmarking, portfolio screening, or pre-certification checks where bespoke band labels and thresholds are required.
Side effects
- Missing required fields (conditioned_floor_area_m2, supplied_bands, annual_imported_energy_kwh) returns a validation error
- Conditioned floor area of zero or below minimum causes a division error
- Supplied bands not in ascending order may produce an unexpected band selection
- Value exceeds all supplied band thresholds — no matching band returned or highest band returned depending on implementation
- Extremely large energy values near float limits may cause precision issues
