Use this endpoint when you need to check an ERC-20 token on Ethereum mainnet specifically before executing a buy. Prefer this over general token security scans when you need a quick buy/sell simulation with real tax numbers and a binary can_sell decision. Use the BSC or Polygon variants for tokens on those chains.
Side effects
- Invalid or non-existent contract address returns an error or empty result
- Token not yet listed on any DEX — simulation cannot proceed
- Network congestion may cause simulation timeout
- Token with no liquidity pool cannot be simulated
- Non-Ethereum chain addresses return errors — use chain-specific endpoints for BSC or Polygon
