How this service works
Change watch for ip listed on cbl: runs the check, compares it with the result from your previous call for the same ip (kept 90 days) and returns the current answer, changed true/false, the fields that changed with before/after values, and when it was last seen. Use this endpoint when you need change-detection semantics — i.e., you want to know not just whether an IP is on CBL right now, but whether that status has changed since your last check. Prefer this over a simple point-in-time CBL lookup when building scheduled monitoring, alerting pipelines, or audit trails. It is especially useful for recurring polling workflows where bandwidth and noise reduction matter, since it explicitly flags unchanged results.
Side effects
- Missing or invalid IP address parameter returns an error
- IP not previously checked returns no 'changed' comparison (first-call baseline only)
- Previous result older than 90 days causes loss of comparison baseline
- CBL DNS lookup timeout or upstream unavailability may cause check failure
- Malformed IP (non-routable, IPv6 if unsupported) may yield an error response
