How this service works
Fuzzy-search countries, currencies and languages by name or code. Scope with `registry` (defaults to all). Matches are ranked exact-code/name → prefix → substring.
Output
Returns a ranked list of matching ISO registry entries (countries, currencies, and/or languages) ordered by match quality: exact code/name matches first, then prefix matches, then substring matches. Each result includes relevant ISO codes and names for the matched entity.

Use this endpoint when you need fuzzy or partial-text search across ISO registries rather than exact-code lookup. Ideal for autocomplete UIs, resolving ambiguous user-typed country/currency/language names, or when you only know a fragment of a name or code. For exact known codes, prefer the sibling lookup endpoints.
Side effects
- Empty query string rejected (minLength:1 validation error)
- Limit out of range (must be 1–100) returns validation error
- Invalid registry enum value returns 400 error
- No matches found returns empty results array
- Payment failure (x402) if USDC not provided
