Choose this endpoint when you need an on-demand, automated research brief on any topic without setting up a full research pipeline. It's particularly useful for agents that need lightweight, pay-as-you-go research without committing to a subscription, and when USDC micropayments on Base are already part of the stack. Prefer it over general LLM prompts when you want a structured, purpose-built briefing output rather than a freeform answer.

• Topic exceeds 200 characters — request rejected with validation error
• Missing required 'topic' field — 400 error returned
• Payment failure or insufficient USDC balance — 402 Payment Required with x402 challenge
• Invalid depth value outside quick/standard/deep enum — may default or return error
• Worker timeout for very complex deep-dive topics — 5xx response
• Ambiguous or nonsensical topic may yield a low-quality but technically successful response
