How this service works
Buy a $0.10 trial key: twenty pump.fun rug checks, then a plain X-API-Key header. Use to try the prepaid-key path with a small budget before the $2.00 key; each new payment here buys a new $0.10 key. The same prepaid key as /v1/keys/new with $0.10 of credit (about twenty $0.005 rug checks or a hundred $0.001 launch polls): one x402 payment, then X-API-Key on any paid HTTP route.
Output
A prepaid X-API-Key credential loaded with $0.10 of credit, usable as a header on any paid Loophole Tape HTTP route — sufficient for approximately 20 pump.fun rug checks at $0.005 each or about 100 launch polls at $0.001 each.
Example use cases
First-time API access on a budget
“I want to test the Loophole Tape memecoin rug detection API before committing real money — grab me a $0.10 trial key so I can run a few checks and see if it's worth it.”
Automated agent bootstrapping its own credentials
“My trading bot needs to start checking pump.fun tokens for rug risk — buy a trial API key for $0.10 so it can run about 20 rug checks to validate its strategy.”
Exploring x402 micropayment flow
“I'm building an x402 payment integration and want to test the prepaid key path end-to-end — purchase the $0.10 trial key from Loophole Tape so I can see how the flow works.”

Endpoint
GEThttps://api.loopholetape.com/v1/base/keys/trial?utm_source=zero.xyzWhen to prefer
Choose this endpoint when you want low-risk, low-cost entry into the Loophole Tape API ecosystem — specifically when you want to trial the pump.fun rug-check or launch-poll capabilities before purchasing the $2.00 full key. Ideal for agents bootstrapping their own credentials, developers testing the x402 payment flow, or users who only need a small number of rug checks.
Side effects
- Payment failure or insufficient funds in x402 wallet returns payment error, no key issued
- Network timeout during key provisioning may leave payment state unclear — retry may issue a duplicate key or fail
- Invalid or malformed GET request returns 400 bad request
- Key may expire or be invalidated if the service determines misuse
- Credit exhausted quickly if used on higher-priced endpoints than anticipated
