Returns a JSON object with: feed_url (resolved URL of the feed), feed_type (rss/atom/rdf/json), title (feed title), item_count (number of items returned), truncated (boolean indicating if the feed was cut), and items array where each item has title, link, date (ISO 8601), and summary. Feed discovery falls back to /feed, /rss.xml, /atom.xml if no feed link is found on the page.

Use this endpoint when you need to ingest content from any standard syndication format (RSS, Atom, JSON Feed, RDF) without writing a parser yourself, especially when you only have a homepage URL and need automatic feed discovery. Ideal for agents that need to monitor blogs, news sites, or podcasts and want normalised output (title, link, ISO date, summary) regardless of underlying feed format. Prefer this over raw HTTP fetch when feed format is unknown or when auto-discovery from a page URL is needed.
Side effects
- URL is unreachable or returns non-2xx status — feed_url may be empty and items empty
- Page has no detectable feed link and fallback paths also return nothing
- Feed XML is malformed and cannot be parsed — likely returns an error or empty items
- limit parameter out of 1–100 range causes validation failure
- Private or paywalled feed URLs return empty or partial content
