Chen 2013 kinetic eGFR (KeGFR) from two plasma creatinines, hours between them, caller-assigned steady-state creatinine and corresponding eGFR/CrCl, and required max_delta_pcr_mg_dl_day (Chen usual default 1.5). KeGFR = (SSPCr * CrCl / MeanPCr) * (1 - 24*dPCr / (dTime_hours * MaxdPCr/Day)), clamped at 0 when that (1 - ratio) term is negative. Creatinine mg/dL only. Not a CKD-EPI result. Not a dialysis prescription. magent does not compute MDRD or CKD-EPI.
Output
Returns a numeric kinetic eGFR value in mL/min calculated via the Chen 2013 formula: KeGFR = (SSPCr × CrCl / MeanPCr) × (1 − 24×dPCr / (dTime_hours × MaxdPCr/Day)), clamped to 0 if the bracketed term is negative. The result reflects estimated real-time kidney function when creatinine is not at steady state.

Use this endpoint when a patient's creatinine is acutely changing and a steady-state GFR assumption would overestimate or underestimate true kidney function. Prefer this over standard CKD-EPI or MDRD lookups when you have two serial creatinine measurements within 72 hours and want a kinetically-adjusted GFR. Do not use this for CKD staging, dialysis dosing prescription, or when you need CKD-EPI or MDRD specifically — those are not computed here.
Side effects
- Missing required query parameters (creatinine_1_mg_dl, creatinine_2_mg_dl, delta_hours, steady_state_creatinine_mg_dl, steady_state_egfr, max_delta_pcr_mg_dl_day) returns an error
- Creatinine values outside 0.1–20 mg/dL range may return validation error
- delta_hours outside 1–72 hours may be rejected
- steady_state_egfr outside 5–200 mL/min may fail validation
- max_delta_pcr_mg_dl_day outside 0.5–3 may be rejected
