How this service works
Stratton 2004 Malnutrition Universal Screening Tool (MUST) for adults. Three additive scores, max 6: BMI (>20 → 0, 18.5–20 → 1 including 20.0, <18.5 → 2); unplanned weight loss % last 3–6 months (<5 → 0, 5–10 → 1 including 10%, >10 → 2); acute disease no nutritional intake >5 days → 2. Risk 0 low, 1 medium, ≥2 high. Caller supplies BMI and weight-loss percent. Not a malnutrition diagnosis, diet order, or MUAC. magent does not weigh the patient.
Output
Returns the total MUST score (integer 0–6), individual component scores for BMI, weight loss, and acute disease, and a risk category: 0 = low risk, 1 = medium risk, ≥2 = high risk of malnutrition.

Use this endpoint when you need a standards-compliant, reproducible Stratton 2004 MUST score computed server-side from caller-supplied BMI and weight loss percent, especially in agentic clinical workflows where auditability matters. Not appropriate for pediatric patients, MUAC-based assessments, or as a substitute for clinical diagnosis.
Side effects
- BMI value outside valid range (10–80 kg/m²) returns validation error
- weight_loss_percent outside valid range (0–50%) returns validation error
- missing required query parameters returns 400 Bad Request
- payment not provided or insufficient for x402 endpoint returns 402 Payment Required
- boundary values (e.g. BMI exactly 20.0, weight loss exactly 10%) may be misunderstood by callers — endpoint follows Stratton 2004 rules strictly
