Use this endpoint when you need to pre-screen music releases for streaming platform compliance before distribution — especially for AI disclosure requirements, functional noise duration rules, or catching duplicates across large batches. It is purpose-built for music release metadata validation and understands royalty policy changes (e.g. the Nov 2023 functional noise ruling), making it more specialized than a generic schema validator or rules engine.
Side effects
- Release missing required fields (title, artists, live date) causes validation errors
- Track duration below 120s for functional noise recordings results in a royalty eligibility fail
- Live date fewer than 7 days ahead generates a warning
- Duplicate ISRCs or matching title+duration (within 3s tolerance) across batch flagged as fail
- AI used but ai_used flag omitted may cause undisclosed AI content warnings
- Malformed release JSON in the 'release' or 'releases' field causes parse errors
- Batch exceeding 200 releases may be rejected
