It is ideal for RAG pipelines, fact-checking workflows, and any scenario where citation fidelity is critical and hallucinated sources are unacceptable. The pay-per-call x402 micropayment model (no subscription required) makes it efficient for sporadic or agent-driven workloads. Prefer a general chat completion endpoint if you need unconstrained generation without source anchoring.
Side effects
- Fewer than 1 or more than 12 citations causes a validation error
- Quote or URL fields missing from a citation object return a schema error
- Query shorter than 3 characters or longer than 2000 characters is rejected
- max_tokens outside 1–600 range is rejected
- Payment failure on Base causes the call to be declined before brief generation
- If the client nonce matches a prior successful call, the cached brief is returned without a second charge
