Choose this endpoint when you have a business or person name that may be misspelled, abbreviated, or operating under a DBA, and you need fuzzy matching against a license roster rather than an exact license number lookup. Prefer this over the exact license-number lookup when you do not already have the license number. Prefer over free-text contractor search when you specifically need name-based fuzzy matching with scoring and history across multiple entity types.

- State code not in supported enum (tx, fl, or, de, va) — validation error
- Missing required 'name' query parameter — 400 error
