Use this endpoint when you own or operate an x402 endpoint and need its passport freshness chip updated immediately — for instance after a fix, before sharing credentials with a partner, or after maintenance — rather than waiting up to 7 days for the next weekly census cycle. This is the only way to get an out-of-cycle signed observation from the official census instrument. Do not use it to probe endpoints you do not own, or to check conformance of x402 offers and receipts (use the conformance checker sibling endpoint for that).
