How this service works
One payment, one location and date in Germany: golden hour, sunrise and sunset, official DWD forecast for the day from the nearest station (temperature, rain, wind, clouds, hourly) and Bavarian nature, landscape, bird and habitat protection areas near the point. Up to 2 free public source requests; no drone-zone or permit data.
Output
Returns computed golden hour, sunrise, and sunset times for the location and date; official DWD weather forecast from the nearest station covering temperature, rain, wind, clouds, and hourly breakdown; and a list of Bavarian nature, landscape, bird, and habitat protection areas within proximity of the coordinate. No drone-zone or permit data is included.
Example use cases
Pre-shoot weather and light scouting
“I'm filming at a meadow near Berchtesgaden on September 3rd — can you pull the golden hour timing, sunrise and sunset, and the full DWD day forecast including temperature, wind, rain, and clouds for latitude 47.63, longitude 13.0?”
Nature zone compliance check
“Before we film at coordinates 48.1 latitude, 11.5 longitude in Bavaria on October 10th, check if that spot falls inside any nature, landscape, bird, or habitat protection areas so we know if there are restrictions.”
Sunrise shoot planning in German countryside
“We want to shoot at sunrise near the Zugspitze — latitude 47.42, longitude 10.98 — on July 20th. What time is golden hour and sunrise, and what does the DWD forecast look like for wind and cloud cover that morning?”

Endpoint
POSThttps://agent.chiemgaufilms.com/api/v1/shoot-location-check?utm_source=zero.xyzWhen to prefer
Choose this endpoint when planning an outdoor video or photo shoot at a specific GPS location in Germany — especially Bavaria — and you need light timing (golden hour, sunrise, sunset), a localized DWD weather forecast, and Bavarian protected area data all in a single call. Prefer this over generic weather APIs when you need the combined shoot-planning context (light + weather + nature zone compliance) for a precise coordinate and date. Not suitable for drone-zone checks, permit lookups, or locations outside Germany.
Side effects
- Coordinates outside Germany bounds (lat 47.2–55.1, lon 5.8–15.1) return a validation error
- Invalid or missing date format causes a 400 bad request
- DWD station data may be unavailable for very remote areas, resulting in partial weather data
- Protection area lookup limited to Bavaria — other German states may have incomplete coverage
- Payment failure via x402 protocol blocks the request
- Up to 2 free public source requests; beyond that, additional calls require payment
