It is specifically designed for the x402 protocol context where buyer identity, wallet provenance, and transfer sensitivity must be validated before a payment is made. Prefer this over generic AML tools when operating on Base (eip155:8453) with x402-gated APIs, datasets, or tools.
Side effects
- Missing required query params (transaction_id or wallet) returns a 400 validation error
- Malformed wallet address (not matching 0x + 40 hex chars) rejected by schema validation
- Unknown or unsupported chain/asset string causes a processing error
- Sumsub upstream timeout or outage results in a 503 or delayed response
- Transaction ID not found in the compliance provider's records returns an empty or inconclusive assessment
- Payment of 0.2 USDC not fulfilled triggers x402 payment-required response before any compliance data is returned
