How this service works
Screens up to 20 crypto addresses (EVM chains, Bitcoin, Solana, Tron, Litecoin, Monero, XRP, Zcash and more; 18 currencies) against the US Treasury OFAC Specially Designated Nationals (SDN) digital currency address list. Reports sanction status, list name, SDN program, and source link. Never declares an address clean: reports 'not on the checked lists'. Information only, not financial advice.
Output
Returns a JSON object with per-address results indicating whether each address is sanctioned, its status label, the list name it was found on (or null), and the currencies it is listed under. Also includes metadata: which sanction lists were checked, total screened count, total sanctioned count, the timestamp of the check, the data source attribution, and a disclaimer.

Use this endpoint when you need a fast, low-cost OFAC SDN sanctions check specifically for cryptocurrency wallet addresses (up to 20 at a time). Prefer this over manual OFAC lookups when building compliance workflows, KYC/AML pipelines, or pre-transaction screening into an AI agent. It covers multiple chains (ETH, ARB, BCH, BSC, and more). Note: a clean result is not a legal clearance — always confirm hits on the official OFAC portal.
Side effects
- Missing 'addresses' query parameter returns an error
- More than 20 addresses submitted may be rejected or silently truncated
- An address not on the list does NOT confirm it is safe — only that it wasn't found on OFAC's SDN list
- Stale data risk if OFAC updates the list intra-day before the daily extract refreshes
- False negatives possible for newly sanctioned addresses not yet in the daily extract
